Nathalie is 5!

On Friday, January 2, we celebrated our little gal's 5th birthday (and our 2nd anniversary of moving to Calgary).  One might think Nathalie was done with presents after opening so many just a week ago on Christmas, but nope, she was ready to go!  :)  Lots of fun new things from family like a Strawberry Shortcake doll, Playmobil princess castle, and Frozen Anna dress.  Dad helped his princess try on her new royal attire...

 

Time for cake!  "Happy birthday dear Nathalie..."  Cannot believe our thoughtful, independent, and sassy girl is 5!  We love you oodles of noodles!

A few weeks later, Nathalie celebrated her birthday with friends at the Wildflower Arts Centre in Calgary.  This is where she takes her dance class, and they offer birthday dance parties, which sounded like a lot of fun!  Almost all of Nathalie's little girl friends from her preschool class could join us for games, cake, and presents.  Although, lesson learned that a group of 5 year old girls is harder than you think!  They have a lot of energy and very strong opinions about who should get to take home those Frozen cake characters (and hint, they didn't think it should be Nathalie.)  :)

Time to get their groove on!  Princess teacher Juanita was fantastic with the kids as they acted out stories, made their own music, twirled with ribbons, ventured through an obstacle course, and played parachute.  I don't know if the girls were exhausted after the party, but Mom and Dad were!!  Happiest of birthdays to you, sweet Nathalie!
