Flowers

Flowers of joy...Greg surprised me with some flowers for our anniversary on September 30th.  So grateful for all that God has blessed us with these last 13 years and joyfully anticipating all that is yet to come.

Flowers of pain...Greg surprised me again a few days later with these white roses to mark the 10th anniversary of my Mom's death on October 5th.  It was a painful day of sorrow and longing for what has passed.

Five years ago, we were in Amsterdam, and these are the words I wrote to capture my heart at the time.  These words still ring true and probably always will...

“We don’t yet see things clearly. We’re squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us! But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:12-13 (The Message)
