Greg and His Animals

A few bits from early June....

I turn my back for one second to make lunch, and this is what happens...good gravy!  Should I be worried that she'll want a tattoo someday??  This little gal keeps me on my toes, that's for sure!

Calgary Stampede time was quickly approaching, so we headed downtown to Riley & McCormick, a classic western wear store, in search of some cowboy hats.  As we drove into the city, we could see that signs were being painted all over town to get in the celebration mode.  Ben thoroughly enjoyed hat-shopping...until we told him that we weren't actually going to the Stampede that day.  Hence the confused and upset face in front of the store.  Poor guy.  I did get some smiles a few blocks down the road from my cowboy crew...

Happy Father's Day, Greg!  A nice breakfast, cards, and gifts before church.  Ben made a sweet card at school (which both Greg and I thought was a fish until Ben told us it was a tie...oops!) and had a framed picture from a class field trip.  Cute idea!  After church, we stopped by the market...those faces say, "no more pictures, let's get the donuts already", don't they?  :)

That afternoon, we hopped in the car and headed to the zoo to enjoy the gorgeous day.  We parked near "South America" this time and met this tiger as soon as we came in!  Wow!  Right after the tiger, Ben saw the train...and he was hooked!  The kids went back and forth between the train and the carousel for the next hour.  They were in kiddie ride heaven!  We did manage to actually see a few more animals before leaving the zoo...pot belly pigs, monkeys, and elephants.  A fantastic day!
